Description

Lately I just can't seem to find time to do much of anything, which is both good and bad, truth be told. It's amazing how much more I appreciate being busy at work after spending almost 5 months unemployed! The other unexpected development of the new job is the sudden desire for new desktop wallpapers to make the work machine more interesting. This came out from that. I honestly couldn't begin to describe how I got here. This started out with some random noise, several layers and filters later I flattened the whole thing, made a duplicate and dropped it to a greyscale, then ran several more filters over it and re-combined it with the original (and it's already half-dozen layers) only to take of and add several more layers built from random-cloud filters and noise filters, etc. And just when I thought I couldn't get any crazier with it I found myself in Adobe Illustrator drawing the circles and lines and then pulling that over into Photoshop for yet more silliness. None of that would be a bad thing if it wasn't for the fact that I was staying up far too late on a night before I had to go into work 2 hours early... Yeah, sometimes I get a little bit too obsessed with these things. Still, it does look nice on my computer's background!

I LIKE IT!!!!! This is entirely tooo cool, Mike! It has a wonderful Aztec-y/Steampunk-y look to it - it's just great! I can relate to your situation, my friend! I'm in the same boat - you're glad to be working in this shaky economic climate, but at the same time, we need our creative time.
