Description
Dana (Danapommet) inspired me to post this today after seeing his wooden illustration yesterday.
As you can see this one is very old and they were used to protect the brickwork from the heat and also to store and radiate the heat for some time after the fire had burned down. This was seen in an old mansion near Torquay, Devon.
