Yesterday I promised to post a photo (vertical panorama) of the giant crane that was erected in two days time for the construction of the garage and buildings to be erected. It's a LONG climb up/down. The long horizontal arm is 2 meters high. It reaches the edge of the shopping center. Comparing with the buildings below, this is almost a city block long!
The cab is located just to the right where the vertical meets the horizontal part. Just below the cab is the circular roller part the crane arms will rotate around. Scarcely visible to the right of the cab is the large hook system for lifting. These are more readily seen in the thumbnail, which is a maximal zoom-in from the crane's other side.
At the end of the left arm are the huge cable drums and cement counter-weights. And all these look SO small due to the crane's size.
I'm surprised at how quickly the whole thing was assembled! And without accidents. It's a LONG fall if you slip.
Enjoy!
