Description

Had they grown up together as surface elves, Jhuldia, Shandara and Mara would have been close friends. That however, is not the way of the drow. Power and position are first and foremost in drow society and friendship among houses is not an option. Thus, Jhuldia learned of the renegade drow twins flight to the surface and looked forward to their meeting. In many ways equal in skill with a sword, Jhuldia held her own for some time with Shandara. Mara, respecting her sisters ways, stayed in the shadows and did not interfere, as the two assassins fought. An ally of the drow, but no friend to Jhuldia intervened first. The mindflayer sensing the loss of a valuable ally assaulted Shandara with a barrage of mental confusion. Not knowing why her opponent acted out of character, in dropping to a knee, when no blow landed, Jhuldia stayed her attack. Mara sensing her sisters danger, did not hesitate. The lightning bolt from Maras outstretched hand lifted Jhuldia off the ground and sent her flying back into the cavern wall. Jhuldia fell to the floor, from which she would never again rise. The mindflayer then turned his assault on Mara, not realizing she had artifacts to prevent such an assault. The mindflayer did not recognise the danger he was in until it was too late. Knowing she would not penetrate his magical shield in any time soon, Mara chose another method for killing this formidable foe. Maras next lightning bolt struck the ceiling directly above the mindflayer, bringing tons of rock down upon it. Shandara rose to her feet and surveyed the scene around her. She then felt Mara slip an arm around hers and they both dissappeared on the wings of a teleport spell, Enjoy, -Arakas

An interesting story, my friend. And proof again that "she who hesitates, is lost". Love the render, too. The shadows melding into the black background add to the sense of darkness surrounding the character. Bravo!
