Description

I wanted to try the image stacking method of achieving good depth of field. I decided keeping as much control of the session was important so I chose to take the images inside. Using my Canon equipment, which included 7D body, 100 mm 2.8 L Macro Lens and a EX580 II flash used in a small soft box. Because I have no intentions of killing insects just for my photographic hobby I searched the garden for a suitable subject. It didn't take long to find a deceased insect. The camera Settings were; ISO 100 - F5.0 @ 1/100. The flash was set to ETTL. I took 14 images changing the distance from lens to insect after each shot. Processed these RAW images in "Photoshop CS5" than combined the resulting 16 Bit files using "ZereneStacker"
