Description

While we were exploring the I&M Canal on Monday and Tuesday, we stayed in a wonderful bed & breakfast that Yvonne recommended. Our suite was a converted corn silo! We liked it so much we stayed an extra night and didn't leave the area until this morning. This is the staircase leading up to the sleeping loft. I assure you, your imagination won't do this place justice. Every bit of the conversion was done by hand, and it's curvy and imaginatively done. A perfect artist's retreat! :) We had a ball.

WOW! Ya know, Bellis Coldwine (now there's a name!) lived in a chimney on board the Terpischoria in The Scar by that China Mieville guy...and her living quarters didn't seem nearly as interesting or fun as this! What a place and what a shot! I'd love to see that place myself, and spend a few nights there! I love this shot and the whole idea of living in a silo! WOW! This is stunning!

This looks like it would a wonderful as well as historical place to stay:) When I think of a silo...its just feeder lines....and tall and straight..usually grey color.......... Looking at this one...it is totally different than the one I imagine in my eyes's The renevation is beautiful....far from what this old country girl imagined... I love it...would love to sleep there myself....LOL:love all that woodworking:) I am so glad you are having a fun time.........maybe one day I can get on another vacation myself..but first would have to be able health wise to make the trip Love this sweetie It's a fav with me Hugs Susan~

To begin with, a rope handrail is just over the top! A most interesting place and a great shot of it! The only way to make it better is if it had been a lighthouse rather than a silo.

I'm so glad you and Bill enjoyed it, I hope Marcia told you how the whole place came to be converted, it's a neat story to go along with such a neat place. You did an excellent job of capturing it's ambiance. : )

Looks like a very unique place to stay. When I first saw it, I was sure it was a lighthouse interior (especially with that rope handrail). Great POV gives me a good sense of what the space feels like (I think?)...

Oh, that's just tooooo cool! A great photo, Tara, and what a delightful idea! I've always thought it would be really neat to convert an old water tower into a house..
