My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Fantastic capture! It's nice to know that the canal boats are still in use

Funny, he doesn't look much like a mule...LOL! Great shot, and those stairs look just like the stairs in one of my shots from Port Gamble...

A real authentic experience. Not for anyone in a hurry. Great capture of a determined looking yound man. Nice braces and poofy shirt.

I love the idea of a Mule named Larry, and now I'm contemplating the relationships between mules and boats and guys with overgrown soul patches that are actually half-goatees! Needless to say, my mind is going off in some of the oddest directions. Like Andrea, I love the shirt! He looks so focused too...the guy, not the shirt! I love this shot and the details are wonderful. I particularly like the timeless quality of this image. It could be today or simply, way back when, or it could even be the future, depicting one of those new canal-going vessels with a Larry Drive...I hear that's the newest in green energy.

A great character portrait, Tara! It seems this young man gets into his role pretty thoroughly! Great capture, my friend! :-D Hmmmmm.... The pace of a walking mule...... Sounds like how time passes when I'm at work....

Nice capture Tara. I don't know if he looks that way intentionally, but this guy looks like he belongs there!

A great portrait! Not much hard work in catching that 'moving' target.. LOL Yes, canal boats are on the slow side.. LOL There are still lots in the UK, not pulled by mules but with engines of various kinds.. Still as slow though.. Walking pace! lol Good one.. Rob

Having seen the before and after on this shot, kudos again for the postwork on this shot...you have successfully converted a mid-day, flat light situation into a, "Wow, love the light", situation. Cool!

Funny, I have had the brochure for this boat for about 3 years now, and every summer I say "we should do that" and fail to follow through. But now you've tempted me all over again. Next summer for sure! I do love the lighting you've got in this image. It sets the mood for the whole scene. : ))
