Hi again!
Another Berlin scene, another mostly unknown aspect.
Berlin includes different cities, villages, farming mansions, but although fields, woods, lakes and rivers.
More then 30% of the whole areal is nature, that gives Berlin a very special place among other European cities. There are more then 250 kilometers of rivers, channels and lakes we can traveling by boats, and countless Berlinians are engageged in some water activities, maybe sailing, rowing in regatta clubs or only fishing.
And some people are living in houseboats like this...
Pic was taken in late autumn 2007, when the sun shined with a last great intensity and created us a sort of "Canadian" light before the deep autumn started....

Great shot! He has it all, a garden, a sun deck, ample living quarters, BBQ, swimming ladder, nearby fishing, satellite TV, and quick access to a waterway! Where are the girls?

Thanks for your nice comments! Activities like this are very rare here, and our authorities have a strong eye on it, because we are in Germany. That means rules, rules, rules, and papers, papers without end. Where get he his energy? Does he have an postal adress? Whats about his waste? And so on.... Every breathtaking need a paper and an official YES. So boats like this are very, very rare. I am sure thousands of people are interested in such a lifestyle.

Eine super Aufnahme, mein Lieber! Ich hab zuerst gedacht, dieses Häuschen in Plötzensee gesehen zu haben. Ein Leben im Hausboot stell ich mir idyllisch vor....bis die Mücken kommen. Mal `ne Woche so wohnen, dann zieht es mich wieder in die Stadt. Bin halt mehr Stadt als Wasserratte.
