On Aviation and Photography:
"You haven't seen a tree until you've seen its shadow from the sky." -- Amelia Earhart
“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I wonder at what point she is going to realize it's on TOMORROW! Well seen Bill.

What a gorgeous shot! You know, I attempted to focus on "space" the day after you took this photograph, and I love the whole spaciousness you captured here. That red is amazing. Gorgeous. Elegant! And to top it off, this is so well seen with just one person, sitting and perhaps even enjoying music no one else can hear. Ooooh, I think a story is about to percolate! I can see it now...sort of. Now I just have to write it! But that will come later. Right now I'm gonna just sit back and see this shot again on full zoom. I love the nice business going on in this with the metal, the red seats, the speaker struts above and just the whole, open vibe. This is one rockin' photo!

This shot is amazing. I so love the metallic against all the red and I agree with Andrea. That woman really adds to the whole.

I love how you have captured a soft humane element in what other wise would hae been a cold hard metallic image!!!

She's either early or late, great shot!!!

Brilliant! As Andrea says, that woman makes the shot. I have nothing close to this picture, although I've got oodles of the area. Amazing ... again ... how people stand in the same place and take totally different shots!

Oddly you can manage to be alone in a big City! As you show here.. lol But got ask and indeed wonder? Did the guy who designed this, drop the plans? Its awful!! But then, as you knoow....lol...I'm not a 'Modern art type of guy.. Quite an amazing shot though, to get a lone person in the big city.. Rob

Wow, what a wonderful capture! I love the architectural details, and the expanse of red seating; the lone person makes it a really moody shot. Well done!

Really wonderful capture, Bill! There's a lot to look at here, and a lot to like! There's a wonderful vibration here between the muted colors of the structure and sky, and the red seats. And the lone figure adds a human element that makes it perfect. Great one, Bill!

I wonder what is going to happen here or has it just happened. A super capture with just this one person amongst all the red. That is an interesting looking building too.

Ohhh, I'd not got round to this part of the sculpture. Wonderful image you've made of it. Glad you did and I'm seeing that side now, funny, I feel another trip for a wander round coming on : )

This is really nice, recently while my family from out west was here, they all came and attended one of my daughters orchestra practices, dang it I should have thought to take a photo because we had the entire place to ourselves and it was so fun to see the behind the scenes show, since they never get to attend her live concerts. I really love how you captured this.
danapommet
Cool contrasts with all that aluminum, concrete and red chairs. Like the POV. Dana
