Description

Azdrubaal had to wait until the City Watch opened the gates at dawn to leave. Trying to leave before then would have been suspicious. Another man was leaving as he did and rode out the gate like his pants were on fire. He passed a bit of conversation with the guard: "They ever discover who burned the ship in the harbor?" "Nay, friend. Ye know this place. Things happens 'n' no one e'er knows who did it. Had three murders last night." The guard shrugged, smiling crookedly. "Maybe twas one o' them. Who knows?!" He waved Azdrubaal on. "Travel safe, sir." The sun was just peeking over the hills in the east. He rode the Arabian hard, wanting to get back to Domna as soon as he could. There was a dead jackal on the road he took back to the house. He sincerely hoped that was not some sort of omen, and she would be forgiving of what he had done. ***** This image was a posing nightmare! Happy Sunday to all and thanks for coming by! Rayvn

Posing a rider is not easy, I've stuggled with this several times. But where is the dead jackal? I was a little disappointed not to see it ! :o))) Can't wait for the continuation ,dear Rayvn.

Excellent posing! I love the horses eyes too. He almost has a human expression. If you posed these two from scratch, hats off to you. Don't know horses well enough to make a convincing pose. Beautiful work. Interesting turn in the story.

Great job on the horse and the posing. I have to ask if you used a set for the saddle and bridle or did you paint these?
