Description
She couldn't sleep for worrying about him. Something had gone terribly wrong. She could feel it in her bones, but so far her efforts at trying to 'see' what it was had been for naught.
Domna got up and went out into the back of the house. It was a dark, moonless night. She sat out on the wall, shivering in the warm wind. Crickets chirped nearby. She felt so alone - more alone than she'd ever felt when Sergius died. Why? Why couldn't she 'see'?
A moving shadow crossed on her left. Her head jerked around to see what it was. An owl, by the shape of it and the sound of the great wings flapping as it landed somewhere behind her. It hooted then, pulling her into that other place where she could see.
She saw it all. Everything. Tears welled in her eyes as she hurried back into the house and to the bedroom.
She found herself sitting up in the bed, the blankets pulled up around her, clenched in her fists. Tears ran down her cheeks.
Was it just a dream? It all seemed so real.....

Missed the owl on the first look, perhaps that is as an image of a dream should be. Who has not woken from a dream of such intensity... you capture the moment beautifully.
