Description

Greetings To All..... Thought I'd create a tribute this time around to one of my all time favorite cartoon artists(Charles M. Schultz)from my youth.I was creating this one particular scene and something triggered this idea and I ran with it.I'm thinking no matter where you live or grew up and if your around my age you have at least watched "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" at some point.Every year it's a tradition in my house with my 3 sons to sit down and watch these timeless classic's as we approach the Holiday season.Yes you heard right...I'm turning 49 next month and I still enjoy watching these specials as like my Grandfather had bestowed in me at a very young age that if you let the little kid inside your heart grow up then life isn't worth a plug nickle....(smiles)...So without further ado I hope this triggers the little kid that lurks inside each and everyone of us.(even if you won't admit it)it's still there...(wink).. So here's my little tribute to one of my all time cartoon artists Charles M. Schultz as we get ever so closer to Halloween...Hope You Enjoy!! Hope as always that this finds you well and in good health....(smiles).. ~Will~ Created completely in Adobe Elements 8 using a silhouette approach. *Note* My apologies if you find this too dark but it is a night scene and the last time I checked it's dark at night.....ROFL!......

"It was a dark and stormy night" That is the start of every one of Snoopy's novels and fits this image perfectly. Charles Schultz was a masterful cartoonest. The peanuts gang has produced tradations for many people. Watching It's a Charlie Brown Christmas is a requirement every single year even after the kids have left home. The great pumpkin is also one of those traditions for many of us. Thank you for this excellent reminder of a simpler time. One of when cartoons were good fun for all ages without being sexy or nasty like southpark, the simpsons or any of the other so called modern comics.

This is terrific! I have been reading Schultz classics for years and have, in the past few years, been buying up the "The Complete Peanuts Boxed Sets" by Fantagraphics, which showcase every single one of Charles Schultz' strips, from the 1950s on. I like to crawl in bed about a half hour before I go to sleep to read Peanuts! See here: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_15?field-keywords=peanuts+complete+boxed+set&url=search-alias%3Daps&sprefix=peanuts+complet :O)

Dude you nailed it! This is great art and an excellent tribute. I'm a big Schulz fan myself. I have books that actually date from the late 50s. The characters even looked different. In fact Charlie Brown almost looked like Stewie from Family Guy in the first series. Great stuff.

Snoopy rides again. I love how you have done this fabulous tribute and your lighting is superb. I never miss reading the strips in the paper each day and I love the ones that have Snoopy in them and I am ancient. I'd hate to grow up. Excellent image and so beautifully created.

charly brown came a bit too late to luxembourg to see me as a kid,i watched a lot although when grown up. and we got our first tv set in 1968 i was 13 by that time. in the meantime i watcghed charles chaplin and laurel and hardy in the cafes where my father took me on his binges hehehehe. for me one limonade with strawberry taste and he had in each cafee 2 biers and 4 schnaps. at the end he drank one liter of white schnapps a day wich ate up his liver and intestines.he died like a dog. not your fault that these memories swim over me at this moment lol see ya.
