Description

This is high up atop a country hillside here at home...It is beautiful this time of year... I haven't been feeling too well...not been online much...I also had to get a new e mail account so those of you who have it here please send me an e mail so I can add you back into my contacts.... I also thought I would write this poem to go along with the image...I hope you like it...it's been awhile since I have written a poem...Have tried to get a hold of my cousin Carolyn she has been in the bed with a fever of 102....She has not been doing well since the death of her husband Lowell.....My husbands brother also has found out his cancer has returned...it is now spread to his brain...they have given him maybe 6 mos to live..so far so good with me and the new chemo pill they have put me on...I haven't been sick since I started taking it......thank heavens for small favors......I adjusted hue and saturation...One step fix...sharpened the image added borders, frame and text..All post work done in PSP9...I have a few small fall images not a lot though.......Thank you for your comments and favs...It is most appreciated...I hope you all have a wonderful night......and a good day tomorrow.. Autumn The glory of autumn colors, Is around us everywhere Especially now in October, And there's a chill in the air A soft haze over the meadow The sumac is flaming red Along the fence beside the road The goldenrods nod their heads Maple and oak are blooming in colors of every hue From gold to red to crimson Against a sky of a deepest blue This is nature's grand finale As summer comes to an end The curtains will soon drop And winter will soon descend Written October 9th 2011

Even from my dark place, your light shines bright... a most beautiful image enhanced by your shining spirit. Your gallery is amazing and your words sweet and soft. I am happy our paths twisted to a place where we had a chance to meet. Seth

This is so wonderful, dear Susan. Your photo really looks like a lovely painting, and I love the poem too. Wishing you strength with all what's going on around you, it sounds not easy but I'm glad you now have a pill that's not making you feeling more sick. God bless, dear friend, and thank you for your favorites and words. I'm very thankfully.

It's lovely to see a new poem from you! Beautiful poem with wonderful descriptions. I love the way your words celebrate the richness of autumn but also set it in the cycle of the seasons, as the harbinger of winter. Beautiful image! It looks like a pastel drawing. Lovely frame too! I hope you are feeling better and are still feeling no sickness from the pills. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

First off I'm just letting you know that I'm sending good thoughts your way, but it's good to know that the new chemo pill they've administered to you doesn't make you ill! Small favors add up, you know, and so I'm hoping for lots and lots more small favors going your way. Now, as for this image! It's really wonderfully done. I had a little debate with myself whether or not this was a photograph that's been tweaked, or a pastel drawing, or a watercolor. It has qualities of all three and it's such a beautiful image. I love the colors. It seems that red is one of the colors you work with the most, and I like that, as red is such a vibrant and lively color. This is a vibrant and lively image, but its also very relaxing. Funny how that works. I like the mood in this image very much and the poem is top-notch also; you capture one thing with the image and something else with the poem, but the two work together extremely well: like two sides of a coin. This is really marvelous work.
