My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

She sends me.... Delightful framing, Tara! Love these old steam engines! An excellent photo, my friend! You've even managed to get nice detail in the shadows - in full sun, too!

Great image! I love the heavy iron castings in this old mine machinery. I spent a lot of time around Cripple Creek in Colorado years ago. There is also a Cripple Creek here in Tennessee; I used to pan for gold there. Nothing like the Colorado mine, but i did find about $200 in flakes and small nuggets there. Thanks for bringing those good memories back!

WOW! A gold mine! A wonderful almost abstract capture. So clean against the wonderfully blue sky.

Of course I love the excellent POV and cool info Hun. Yeah - I sit on a "hollow" city after the goldrush that started Johannesburg.... :(

Looks a great landscape through the great bit of engineering.

Seems like it must have been a wonderful adventure! Excellent lighting, Tara! Such a massive structure, and the POV is wonderful, depicting only so much as to just imagine the entire stature of this! I like the colours as well, and the way we can see through the "holes" to the other end of this lovely place!

Great capture, Tara very interesting about the gold production

I never knew that, I always thought the west coast mining was the biggest producer in this country. Go figure. Great capture of this slightly rusty but clearly well-used old piece of machinery. That one little line of white cloud is marvelous!

Interesting capture! :)

All those tailings would cripple any creek. Excellent view through the wheel.
