Description
and another horse! ;-D
these are Elza, Prins (sub: 'Prince') and Frieda,
plowing the pumpkin field.
Prins is growing his hair to feature in a shampoo commercial. ;-D -it turned red this summer-
there are 7 horsies 'there' and I love 'em all!!!
the man behind them is Leo. the plow/plough was purchased from the Amish.
also the only way to get a 'decent' plow/plough, apart from the museum. ;-)
the pole sticking through Leo's head is from their 'ringrij' practice track.
ringrijden, literally 'ring riding':

(after 2 minutes)
is an 'ancient sport' around these parts -all started with the knights 'a while' ago ;-) -

we also have 'sjezenrijden'

(Leo is president of the ringriders association)
taken on a dark, grim day... major arguement with the camera about (it refusing) shutter speeds/ASA values, 'thus' not as sharp as intended
(do I talk too much? ;-))

This shot makes me homesick! I grew up with this big babys and we did a lot of our hay season with them. I personally had a HUGE light Grey Belgium/Percheron(he was a whoops, Dad broke out his pen.. we were a little surprised the next spring) but he was magnificient. My Dad broke him to drive and I broke him to ride and rode all the parades around the state Spanish Sidesaddle with the huge black velvet skirt that hung to his knees and the whole outfit. I miss that.

No, you don't talk too much (LOL) A fantastic shot, it's great to see, people use this horse and plow. I don't know if this is in the Netherlands. I guess so. Anyway, it's a beautiful shot.
