Description

Captured with Panasonic DMC-ZS5, the tiny camera I carry with me almost everywhere, since Canon 7D is a not always convenient for a variety of speculative (and not only) reasons. In the yard of the Dept. of Design, Institute of Architecture, Rostov University. I was really pleased seeing this and lots of other talented students' works. Well, life never ends, despite anything... It's great that young people tend to be more creative and daring than we were. Thanks a lot to those who've approved of my Man from the Wood with your warmest and most inspiring comments and faves. Be well Nikolay

I found the scale to be confusing, meaningless, until I sat with this for a while and certain things began to appear that put this piece in perfect perspective. Outstanding artwork, and your photograph is compelling!

A fascinating collage - with the input of many bits & pieces, a little bit too busy - I prefer simple, but thanks for sharing this student innovation Nikolay, BB

This is such a compelling capture: art within art, which is one of those things I absolutely adore. There is always something surprising in massive accumulations of small things and I've learned in numerous ways that art/god/mystery/revelation/life-in-general seems to reside in the smallest elements of existence. It's easy to do something massive, something grand and eye-catching, but it takes a different effort to notice small things and their relationships to one another and to a world outside of their specific context. This illustrates that perfectly as there are so many relationships in this in terms of color, shape, texture, mood, and even personality. It's like looking at a city, a town, or any other massive accumulation of people. Each one is different and individual in so many ways, and yet with others around them, something new emerges, something that cannot possibly exist without these small parts. I love it whenever I see or experience something like that. It shows that, yes not only does life go on, but it gets far more interesting the longer you let it do what it does. This is a marvel. Simply fantastic.

Chipka has said it well... One person's junk, another person's treasures...all together, something entirely new. Like it.
