Description

...we visited Smith Rock, Oregon yesterday. ...climbers come from all over the world to climb here. ...it is a funny thing...all these climbers appeared to be in their twenties...I wonder why;-) Bill P.S. Please zoom...there are at least nine climbers here. "Coincidence" thumb_2261155.jpg

Great capture. 30 years ago it was a dream of mine to once do this. Now I'm an old man and happy that I didn't....

Why are they all in their twenties - because by the time you get to be our age you realize you didn't leave anything at the top that you need to go back to get. Superb shot - an amazing number of climbers - I would think they'd get in each other's way.

Sunday fun? They may not realize it but they're closer to heaven (or hell) than they would be in any church - a simple slip, and.... Very good photo of this dangerous dare-devil sport. Sheesh. Glad you didn't try for it. The colors are beautiful - glad you took the "sunny side" so we can see them. Cheers!

Hmmmm - maybe it's because not many of them reach thier 30's? I shouldn't talk, though.... When I was in the Boy Scouts (a looooong time ago), I had a reputation for free-climbing canyon walls at our campsite (Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo, Texas) just to see what was at the top. It was mostly rocks, sagebrush, and rattlesnakes... :-D Super shot, Bill! So, you and Tara got out the ropes and got some shots from on top, right? wink

Nice shot of these crazy youngsters! :) They left me with the idea that they were just so many ants milling about. I was perfectly happy to saunter along the cliff top on the other side and watch them!

They need to vent the steam. When did you last have your adrenalin boil, Bill? I mean to the extent that you climb the wall:-)))

Why...? Because all the old ones are skeletonized way down at the bottom! Sure a lot of people who enjoy this sport though!

Holy well you know I will stick to the trails. I would rather be where you are and taking the photos and admiring the area, then climbing up any side of rocks.
