Description

or, for the English speaking among us Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15, a jet fighter developed for the USSR by Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich. The MiG-15 was one of the first successful swept-wing jet fighters, and it achieved fame in the skies over Korea, where early in the war, it outclassed all straight-winged enemy fighters in daylight. The MiG-15 also served as the starting point for development of the more advanced MiG-17 which was still an effective threat to supersonic American fighters over North Vietnam in the 1960s. The MiG-15 is believed to have been the most widely produced jet aircraft ever made, with over 12,000 built. Licensed foreign production perhaps raised the total to over 18,000.The MiG-15 is often mentioned along with the North American F-86 Sabre in lists of the best fighter aircraft of the Korean War and in comparison with fighters of other eras. (info via Wikki) Well that's about it for that one, maybe a Russian 'metal' texture and a couple of cammo's, then I'll break this up to Poser and get it uploaded hopefully early next week (I'll let you know when). Some may have noticed this was rendered in Bryce, I like the results but longer render times and all the set up & importing usually puts me off. However I may try a few more with some of my earlier creations, before I get into something new. Hope you like this, thanks for input and comments....now, where did I park that Thunderbolt?....

"Soon, soon," he softly croons to himself, lips drooling in anticipation. Nice work, Neil.

Mind blowing Neil...all those hours in the basement...no wonder! You certainly do beautiful work. I'm not even going to say anything about your dedication...I think you're in the running for "legendary" status. Thumbs up! all ten of 'em.

Oh, my! Dividable airplane so one can see its anatomy as well as the cockpit! Great job! Great work with the paint on the lower image - seems just the right degree of air resistance damage to it. Despite all your earlier work, I'm still amazed at how well your models are made, and how quickly you get them done, both mesh and texture-wise. Excellent work again! And, all I can assume is the Wiki is correct in its assessment of the planes you mention.

A delight to look at Bryce renders; but they can take forever- as I think I found with one scene that took eight hours for my poor machine to render! Excellent render and fascinating to hear just the stats on this legendary fighter jet, a true work of love.

This is amazing. I've never seen anyone make a model that splits like this to reveal the engine before. Truly remarkable neil!
