Description
When the "Mossie" was first introduced, it was the fastest fighter in the sky. Of course the fast pace of war changes ratings more often than facial expressions on a roller coaster ride. However, the relatively high powered and lightweight combination was a sure winner for this bird and the RAF. Fabric skin sure did make a difference.I thought I'd take note of the RAF coastal patrol to ward off the U-boat and transport concentrations of the Kriegsmarine. Just a coupla fishing boats this time...

I always think that aircraft scenes need to be composed with the ground, or other objects to be effective and your seascape does this beautifully. I really like this and others should take a look and learn.

Awesome aerial view!

Fine to see other british aircraft than Spitfires. Very fine.

Keeping the Kippers Flowing for Victory! But perhaps NOT fishing boats... maybe cunningly disguised Schnorkel apparatus for lurking U-boats.... Excellent composition all round.

One of the keys to the Mossie's speed? The Meredith Effect, one of only two aircraft (the other is the Mustang) to actually get it to work. Nobody could get it to work on the Spitfire (or the Messerschmitt, for that matter) so the slide-rule-guys figured the secret to the Mossie's speed was its surface finish and the Mustang's was its wing - not exactly, lol.
