“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

This is such a WOW! It's difficult to get a unique shot at the Bean, but you've managed it beautifully. I never would have thought of this. What a fabulous, twisty shot! This is absolutely outstanding.

WOW, Bill! What a GREAT shot! It has the viewer guessing at what he's seeing, and at what he's seeing it through! As Tara, says, a difficult subject to shoot and get "right", but you've proven your capacity as a photographer with this (and not to forget all the other photos you've done great with!). Any chance of seeing the entire sculpture so we get an idea of its totality? This was real fun - keep up the good work! :-)

WOW here too. This made my head spin to the point of which way is up? Great post Bill :)

I'm glad I've actually seen this or I'd think my eyes were going bad--super perspective!!

This is one of the best bean shots I've seen and I love the curvy bits, especially since the bean is so photographed, it's hard to think there are undiscovered curvy bits. Ah, but it's curves galore and I like to sometimes image that it's what a high-gravity spatial/temporal distortion might look like. The central omphalos underneath it could work as a demonstration of the effect a massive black hole might have on normal space/time. This is a super shot. I like it immensely! Ha! And I think I might possibly have a photo of you making this photo! I'll have to look through the files from that day just to make sure. This is great.

A stunning image ... Very well done

Fantastic capture Bill!

Distortion at its best. Chip has posted many 'Bean' photos over the years but not from this perspective. Good eye Bill.
