Description

Today will be my Hallowe'en celebration, hopefully comprising costumes, dancing, and drinking (not necessarily in that order) and LOTS of fun. At least, that's the plan. So of course for the lead-up to the day I had to do a major assemblage of my favorite rocks out front where people can gawk and wonder just what kind of weirdo lives here (as if they didn't already have enough reason!) and such. What I hadn't counted on was a sudden rain-squall that passed through, soaking everything and sending me scurrying for cover just as I was finishing the setup. Once the rain passed I grabbed the camera and scurried for some photos of the still-wet rocks in the sunlight. You can actually see some water-drops hanging from the tallest stack, although at this reduced size image it's harder to spot them. Thanks for taking a look and have a fun halloween!

Nice! I see the drops. Oh well, could be worse. Could be snowing. I grew up in Buffalo. We almost always got one snow before Halloween.

Very nice!! You have quite a talent for stacking rocks! I'm looking at them wondering how in the world you got some of those rocks to balance so well! You are quite a rock artist, LOL!! Geirla said they almost always got a snow before Halloween? Well, here in southern New Hampshire we usually don't get snow until sometime in November, late November. Not this year! We are in the midst of our first snowstorm of the year...they're telling us 8 inches...sigh. WAY to early. I am SO not ready for winter...

An incredible structure, Mike! I do see the drops of water, and that really adds to the mystical feel of your amazing balancing act! This is great! Dang - 8 inches in NH already..... So much for global warming...

You're a rock star! Strangely, the water makes it look very springlike and inviting. I'm missing summer and pining for spring with a long winter ahead.

Are they drilled with metal bars inside to keep them aligned?

The water drops definitely add a nice extra "something" to the rocks.
