I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

They're multiplying. Hey, is that a cemetery across the road? Put some of those pumpkins atop the rock stacks and you'll freak out the kids next Monday.

Holy wow, Mike! This is the most amazing one, yet! You must have the patience of a monk, my friend! Just awesome! Let us know when the Druids begin showing up in your yard for ceremonies!

I'm always amazed at what your stone sculptures ultimately imply. If you were to build a lot of these on some lone stretch of empty beach, they'd take on an eerie quality, much like the stone monoliths of Easter Island, staring enigmatically out to sea. Or, they'd take on the quality of something ancient, and a bit more familiar, like a forgotten obelisk in Egypt or something buried, and forgotten, in one of those oil rich countries currently enjoying all sorts of US-American military action, which--by the nature of all military actions--tends to erase many of the physical features of a history longer than anything a US-American can comprehend. Funny how that works. Young countries! Too bad you can't just spank them like you can with young humans! But anyway, enough of that! I really like the sheer number of these babies standing around, standing watch, standing guard, perhaps, in some metaphorical way, listening. This is the one of the best ways to relax, and I suspect that the only people who think this is weird are people who consider Dancing with the Stars to be the height of 21st century entertainment. But that's just me...I'd rather stack rocks--or knowing me, let YOU stack them, while I look for all sorts of interesting things that consider the undersides of rocks to be sufficiently cozy homes.
