My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

An imposing and rather frightening sight. You made an inspired compositional choice here.

Great shot; I, too, love the angle here.

I like this POV and composition; it makes me focus on this piece of the construction detail and not the whole thing, which can be very daunting! Well done!

This is such an interesting POV. I would never have thought to take a shot from this angle. You teach me so much about photography.

Great capture Tara. Before i opened it, it looked a little like an aircraft flap (those are the things on the wings that go down and make an aircraft slow down lol).

Grand indeed. Love the tilt. Glad we got to drive through Electric City...wonder where that name came from:)

WOW! This is stunning-super! Or as the young 'uns these days would say: that's sick! If you're 18 and under "sick" in this particular context means "cooler than cool." Dontcha just love linguistic shift? Anyway, my inner 18-year-old is so into this shot. The rest of me is too! What I particularly like is the way it actually looks like something else. It could be an awning border...the greenish bit, anyway, or something that is so not a dam, despite the fact that it's a dam. It's the nice tilt to the image, the way the composition totally plays with the common assumption of what a dam should look like and how close to horizontal is must remain, despite the movability of a camera. I love it when shots do that, when they're straightforward, only not! This is superb and inspired! Oh, and in case I didn't say, I like it.

Grand Coulee? Damn! An impressive image, very creative.
