Description

Well now, as reported yesterday, problems with Poser..I bit the bullet, reinstalled, lost all my Runtime and it still didn't fix the problem.I seemed to have two options..(1) slit my wrists... (2) be bold! Well Thursday (4th)was my Birthday, so I descided to buy myself a present (internet shopping on a Sunday is highly recommended).I sent Mr Smith some gold sovereigns and he sent me a copy of Poser Pro, fair exchange in my book.I should point out that I DID backup my Runtime (pheeew!)so a couple of cups of coffee later (in the wee small hours) I was back in business. Away from 'building' things, I find doing textures very relaxing.A comment made by an American friend did not go un-noticed and I'm working on it.However I need a P-38, enter the legend that is 'Bazze'....this was the first aircraft (CG) that I ever got.I've done textures for it and all his others, before, but I figured as new seems to be the word for today, I'd do a new one. This is just the base, ready for marking up, which I'll start on tomorrow.... So that's my news, now that we've got that huge K-7 out of the workshop I'll be starting something else.As always thanks for dropping bye, and any comments always appreciated.....

Nice work Neil. I am looking forward to what you do with your newly textured P-38:) Very glad to hear you've rescued your runtime...there must be hundreds of hours of work in there.

Glad to hear that your Poser problems were not as bad as they could have been. Excelent work on todays submission.

An amazing job. Both textures have the look of realism about them, which makes model building so rewarding. Great work.

Oh, my. Computer crash problems. Been there recently, reinstalled the operative system and a lot of programs. Still not back to 100%. But, ALL Poser is on a separate external 500 Gb drive! However, despite upgrade from 1.5 Gb RAM to 3 Gb, Poser still will not let me render two V4s simultaneously! I have to do one at a time and then copy-paste in Photoshop (very time consuming!). So you have my deepest sympathies. Now, you said the K-7 is "out of the way". Does that mean it's now parked at cgshare free for the pickings? My, that would be wonderful (and dangerous!). So, the Pee-38 (ha!) texture is the new project. Looks very nice thus far. Keep up the good work, and keep your computer on a "short leash" - never know what it may try coming up with next! :-)

Grats on getting set back up with poser. The texture looks good but I am not sure the texture across the center rudder(not sure what it should be called) looks right. Looked at some old ww-II shots of P-38's but did not really find good shots that showed wear from that perspective.

Now THAT'S a birthday present! I may have to do that for myself eventually. A belated wish for good health, good times, and much affection from family and friends during this next "trip around the sun."

To me, its always been a strange beast the ol' P38... and the "old campaigner" look really makes a statement.

Yes yes. This was the plane. Oddly, it had no cockpit heater. The pilots wore a heated flight suit, which they hated. The color was either orange or pink, can't remember which. The enemy nick named then the twin tailed demons.

Looking good Neil.. This is lovely! The beaten up look is great, more models not yours as such should try to get this included.. It makes the render.. Excellent mate.. Oh! And Happy B's mate.. Sorry it's late.. :-) Rob (and Rosy)
