Description

"no seriously Mr Stalin you're going to laugh. After our meeting I was so pleased to still be alive I called in the pub.Well when I woke up I couldn't remember if you said you wanted an aeroplane or a battleship. It being the weekend I didn't like to bother you so I played safe.....now, now sir, put the gun down....it's not that bad....." The Kalinin K7 flew!! it was a bit smaller than this and it was a passenger plane...oh yes, and it crashed.'Smokin Joe' was not best pleased and had Kalinin stood up against a wall.I'm not sure if HE planned this or somebody with a very active imagination, but someone descided it would be good with a 'few' guns. My thanks to Jayfar for sending some pictures by way of Rob...You can Google Kalinin K7 and see a better model than this, plus the civvy version. Well the gremlins have been in my computer again, got up this morning to be told I can't run Poser because the exe.dll had left the building.Apparantly re-installing it might solve the problem.....not sure what that will mean for the 20 odd Gb of runtime....I wonder if Poser is having a hissy fit because I've been using Bryce? Ahh well, Bryce is ok and 'The Plant' seems unaffected so, as my Mother used to say "when life throws you a lemon......punch the bugger and go to the pub" and I never argue with my Mum. Thanks for dropping bye, and any comments always appreciated..... (Froggy, if you see this, Altern8 has a shock in store :-)

Having seen the original email from Jayfar...you've done an amazing job of modeling on this huge flying fortress. The folks over at Ukrvozdoukhput (Ukranian Air Way) would be very proud to see you showcasing their work. The civie version makes little sense...the military version makes no sense at all;-) Well done!

Ummm...ok, having thought long and hard I'll hazard a guess that this is the "Vladimir Ilyich Lenin Hilton Skywatch" hotel with built in security for the paying customers? I would be totally impressed to see if it could roll down the runway a bit. I do like the observation deck front block glass window for those luxurious dinners while watching a wondrous panoramic sunset or sunrise...and truly Madame would feel totally secure leaving her purse on the chair next to her with all the security precautions. What thief would dare? Neil, holy smoking vertices!!! You get a 5 simply for the audacity!

Amazing render. I'm surprised at your problems as I scoot back and forth between Poser, Carrara and Bryce and haven't (touch wood) had that kind of problem. I just get different ones such as loud whining from the machine when I try and animate! What a huge machine! I keep on doing a double take, looking at the truck for comparision. Fascinating stuff.

Hmmm.... I recall Stalin ordering 4 battleships, none of which were built. And super planes, also not built. I guess this project was to outdo Hitler, Dr. Porsche and Dr. Messerschmidt all at the same time! As you said, the next image would be a "surprise", and it sure was. I'm still laughing at the fantastic thing. A combo plane, tank, battle ship and more, all in one! Was this the warning you were suggesting to Froggy for deleting his gallery? You get an A+ for fantastic imagination. Will it show up on your "secret" site at Sharecg? (Er, if I dare ask, please say "yes"). Keep up the funny work! It gives us all a good laugh! Cheers! :-)

That is so awesome. I've seen the "improved" images as well, and have been tempted to make a cgi model myself. I'm glad someone's gone and done it. Especially nice how well you've modelled this beast. Great stuff!

Great job on this rather strange aircraft. Thanks for sharing and for the historical note.
