Computer geek extarodinaire, I love to tinker with gadgets and tech items to get them to do what I want. I'm either logically artistic or artisically logical. I'm also rude, crude, semi-barbaric, socially unacceptable, and totally psychotic. On the bright side - I am potentially harmless. I'm currently trying to write some short stories about the fae as well as a novel on those same fae as well as two other novels. The programs I have for photo and image editing are: Photoimpact from Ulead, Adobe Photoshop 7 and Corel Paint Shop Pro 2X. Recently I've added DAZ Studios as well as Terragen, Blender and Google Sketch to my list of programs crowding my hard-drive.  All this and much more on an old Pentium III 450 with 396 Megs of memory and operating Windows XP. It does get interesting at time.As of December 26, 2008, I have added Vue 7 Pioneer to my list of reason of why I'm going insane.
As of January 2010 I upgraded to a new HP 2 dual core processor with 6 gigs onboard mem with 4 gig powerboost and 2.07 terabytes of Hard drivesMy email is faemike55@gmail.com

It levitates? Excellent. The 'mundane' world really isn't so mundane, is it Mike? It is full of wonders. Even we are a bit of a wonder and I often wonder about us :-9

Very cool capture Mike, amazing shot!

My father had an interest in electronics. As a result I got to play with magnets when I was a child. If you tried to put the negative pole of a magnet together with the positive pole of another magnet they would repel each other. Since the earth has a magnetic field levitation should, in theory, be possible. See? Science can be fun.
whaleman
Yes, magnets can be fun! Have to correct Mark though, the neg and pos poles will attract, two pos poles or two neg poles will repel, LOL.
bazza
It seems a little fuzzy to me, not the levitation bit but the thing itself.. Is it behind glass.. or is this one of your not so good shots Mike!! LOL
mikeerson
looks like the magnetizm worked on your camera's focus function - lol
UteBigSmile
Another cool looking capture!

Agree little fuzzy capture. What does one do with this?
renecyberdoc
heheheh i was ijn the wrong movie. spinnerin in german means a woman who is weird and not right in the head and spinner is the same in male lol.

OMG! They DO exist! Lmao. Very cool. ")

I used to have one of those on my desk for about 5 years. When I moved it got lost. It really does just hover in mid air due to magnetic forces repelling each other. If you spin it, it litterally spins for a very very long time because there is no friction slowing it down. There has been a lot of research into utilizing these same properties for creating fuel efficent transportation. When the entire train is raised slightly off the track by magnetic repulsion it would take a tiny fraction of the fuel need to move that train compared to when its entire weight is resting on the rails. I've not yet heard if they have developed it into a workable scenario yet but it does have possibilites. Great shot Mike.

interesting Mike, got to say though, hope you don't mind, it's a bit out of focus on the object....now i am really intrigued by this and would actually like to know more :-)

Cool shot my friend....!!!

I have enjoyed the use of magnets but this one I visualize doing a 3d drawing of it.I guess I have not seen this particular one

I love toys, and that one is something I would definitely want to have...however, if I had one, I would probably spend the whole day watching it and never get anything done LOL

Most fascinating, Mike! Totally amazing!!!
