Description

something went wrong with the ratio while converting to 72 dpi ;-D it happened to be horizontal, but this reflects much better how I feel about this place LOL as does the darkness due to shooting against the sun Boulevard of Vlissingen (Flushing) & beaches... still high tide! was born beside that now mutated ancient tower in the upper right corner http://www.postcardsfrom.nl/240/nl240006.jpg and lived there for 8 years with the sea as our front garden which was lovely but don't like to go there anymore. Actually haven't been there for years, prior to taking the 3D camera there in spring (3D waves are awesome! ;-D). Place has been squandered. And sold to real estate developers from all over the country. good for them, their $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that is. (don't see any old pics other than http://www.vlissingen.nl/Gemeentearchief/ Gemeentearchief/Beeldcollectie/Fotocollectie.htm which cannot be linked) once the place was gorgeous before all was destroyed in WWII most bombarded city in the Netherlands -88 times- due to a strategic (geographical) situation and now it's ugly who needs 'skyscrapers' at a place like this?

The light is superb - I like the resulting short shadow of a tall, thin man! Clive

Brilliant. Ine!! The figures alone are worth an image to themselves: they are quite Lowry like. SO sad about your once lovely home town.

The sky scapers are definitely out of place on beach-front areas. Wonderful photo

Beautiful lighting and light reflections, I think the distortion of the photo makes it more emotive and makes me think of people and their shadows... super composition.
