ENCYCLOPEDIA BRITANNICA 2011:
Military forces all over the world fought desperate battles against the technologically advanced enemies to win time for the civilians to evacuate the cities.
One of those historic battles took place in and around the Belgian city of Bastogne, defended by the American 101th Airborne and the German Panzer Lehr Division.
Bastogne had been turned into a fortress, surrounded by mine-fields, Dragon's Teeth and barbwire, and manned by elite troopers prepared to take as many aliens with them to their graves as possible.
