Description

Hello again! Greetings from Berlin Farmsville! A mostly unknown fact: Berlin has some dozen farms till today and so agriculture is another aspect of life here. This is no wonder: Berlin is a conglommeration of half a dozen cities and 59 farming and fishing villages. It is something special to use one of our big autobusses, the "Big Yellows", and to go countryside with this giants and end up somewhere in a village near the duck pond.... This men here, saisonal workers from Poland, digging for potatoes..... Pic was taken in Berlin - Gatow in October 2011, near the place from my yesterday pic. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for your nice comments! Germans tend to give those engines names from animals. These equipment here is named "Maulwurf" (The Mole)....hihihi....

wow never say one picking potatoes before. They do not grow them here. I did see some one growing some in they little piece of land by they house growing some.

Früher, während meiner Schul-und Studentenzeit, mußten wir als "Erntehelfer" ran. Das wir billige Arbeitskräfte waren, interessierte uns nicht. Eine Woche "schulfrei" war mehr Motivation als der schmaler Taler, mit dem wir unser Taschengeld aufbesserten. Der Muskelkater war inklusive...und geschadet hat uns die körperliche Arbeit auf dem Feld auch nicht. Juli
