Description

...October 12, 2011. ...outside the Romanesque Franklin County Courthouse in Ottawa, Kansas. ...Buffalo Woman: Like the buffalo, she has the spirit and knowledge of the land on which the Native American Indians thrived. The Buffalo Woman brings the symbol of fertility from mother earth and the child [on her back] is symbolic of renewel of a great people who can walk with pride and live in harmony with the land. The citizens of Franklin County in celebration of Ottawa's 125th anniversary in 1989 commissioned this life-size bronze sculpture. Bill "Petrified Wood" thumb_2268691.jpg

A wonderful combination between the beautiful statue and the great old building with it's own famous statue on the peek. I like the contrast.
