Description
The Carson Mansion, completed in 1886, is one of the most notable examples of Victorian architecture in the United States. William Carson came to California seeking fortune during the Gold Rush. He ended up striking it rich in the Redwood industry.

Superb capture. I see you included the sign of the current owners. I guess you have to be a member to see the inside. Did you notice the "Pink Lady" across the street? Its a beutiful Queen Anne. Old Bill built it for his son and gave it to him as a wedding gift.

Actually, I'm glad it's not on my block. I think it is a bit of an eyesore, with its attempt to utilize several architectural styles, none effectively. It shows what damage money can do when it's unconnected to classy vision. But that's just me, some no doubt like this monstrosity. LOL! I don't see this as Victorian architecture though it seems to emulate some of that...oh, what do I know? Let's hear what others think about this. The photo is very good though!

I've lived here so long, this is just part of the scenery. To new eyes, it must be amazing. The color's always bothered me; it couldn't be any uglier!! Good shot, though, it's not easy capturing the entire place.
