On the Heath.
They support a bio-system all their own.
I always feel these ones are a little mysterious. I've never been there when the sun reaches them..maybe it never does!

Birch trees are a favorite of mine. These look awesome in the sunlight. Outstanding textures,on the trunks. We have Silver Birch just out our backyard,but the trunks are smooth and one peel off layers. Awesome capture Andrea.

I don't think I've seen a birch here old enough to have such lovely deeply etched bark. Or perhaps auntiek is right, it's like the robins ...
