Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Hmmm.... I see a wee bit water color a bit above the red box, but the rest is other kinds of more "solid" color. Jokes aside, nice. But the water color effect doesn't really come through. I get more the impression of a super realist oil painting. You've given me something to think about with this - how to convert a photo to water color without overdoing/underdoing it. Photoshop has a water color filter, but I've never tried it seriously due to what I see as exaggerated effects. So, now you can guess what I'll be doing after exiting the Internet! :) Keep up the good work! :-)

Nice capture. Maybe the watercolor effect could be enhanced.

Full view really shows this off to good advantage. Zoom is the way to go here, or we don't really see what you've done. Nice work!

Lovely water colour effect even if so slight but it is seen better in full size.. well done Bill..

Well it works for me! more so in zoom but even without, I have my brightness and colour set a bit above 'norm' though as it helps with the modeling.. Just a great image of a lighthouse whatever the medium, and we do like lighthouses...

Wonderful capture and postwork on this beautiful lighthouse Bill!!!

Yep, this is a zoomer, for sure! On full view, you get that full watercolor effect and it's so nicely done. The whole image is nicely crisp and clean and wonderfully bright. Really super work. Such a cozy looking lighthouse too! I wonder if a future, eccentric writer and his Russian (only moderately eccentric, but supremely opinionated) partner could live in one! THAT would be nice! This is brilliant work.

Subtle, even on the zoom - well painted, Bill! Clive

This is lovely, Bill! It's a delightful photo to begin with, but your painterly postwork really kicks it up a notch - or several notches, actually!
