Jock, you paint portraits from that "eye" in your soul. I don't think a better portrait could be done. Wonderful work.

This is really, quite good! I like the fact that this isn't a "standard" portrait. It's definitely a portrait, but the background is also as interesting as the foreground subject. It adds an Impressionistic touch to the image and that works perfectly. I really like your sense of color too! It's so vivid; you're most-definitely, a visual artist and it's interesting to see how your photographs and your paintings all bear something in common: your eye. You focus on some of the most intriguing details. This is really great, quite a dynamic piece of work. Yeah, I like this! I have to catch up on your gallery and this is a great place to start.

do I think you do good? I like it and it has a feel of photograph meets painting by numbers, it has a Van Gogh feel just the paint bursh isn't loaded with every paint you can imagine - lol - I like Van Gogh - unique painter.... but yeah, I like this.... but to make a true comparrison, we need to see the photo side by side.... Does the girl in the photo have a lazy eye? - that's what you call an eye that doesn't line up with the other one - I am funny with eyes and that catches my eye everytime because when I was a kid my teacher noticed I had a lazy eye - I had to repeat 2nd grade because of it... you might say having a lazy eye back then made me tough - I had two grades that wanted to kick my ass - I never lost a fight... but... I didn't go looking for them.... so, the mavelous thing about CG ART is, that's an easy fix - you do SEE what I'm talking about, right? another thing, are you right handed? if you are, you should alway start on the left of the picture - draw the right eye first and then do the left eye, so you can see what you're doing.... you'd be amazed at how many artists don't know that simple rule.... and unfortunately, eyes don't look right when you don't obey that rule - hope you find this helpful and not hurtful - some artists can't handle the truth - I think you can - I like your painting, but would of liked to have seen the photo you worked from - and since this is in pixels now, you should fix the eye.... UNLESS, In the photo she has one.
