I commented on this picture of the two mate.. How far is this away, Mike.? Just asking.. Do you have a zoom lens or a bigger zoom on the camera..? I have found much to failings, that unless you have a 200mm zoom at least (a 300mm-450mm is better) trying for Aircraft and birds is going to end in failure.. A 'smaller' lens is excellent for pano shots etc, in fact better than a zoom in most cases.. So, I had to invest in the bigger lens etc to get those pictures I wanted.. As you know, I prefer to take airborne shots if I can.. And the birds (as here) don't come very close.. But, don't give up and don't take this as anything but advise and help Mike.. If you do have the gear great.. If not, well its up to you.. Most of your pictures are great stuff.. Rob

I really like this area, you get some great shots here with those pilings sticking up from the water, like some ancient remnants of buildings that were built out over water. The duck looks like it's flying up toward you. A lovely scene.
