My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Your rarely see the young people without an ear piece listening to music. Nice shot. Aloha

Let us be lovers We'll marry our fortunes together Your travels have reminded me of that Paul Simon tune. You and Bill certainly fit the lyrics. In my youth that thing in her ear would have been a hearing aid. Great shot. I imagine you had to react quickly to get this.

Well captured! Back when I rode a school bus the only time you saw someone with earbuds was when the World Series was on and they were listening to the game on a transistor radio...

I think wysiwig and I are on the same cosmic plane - as soon as I saw this, the Simon tune started playing in my mind. A great candid of a happy young man, Tara!

This is nicely seen and such an arresting photo--for some reasons, humans in transit always seems to capture so much more than humans posing and looking pretty, and that school-bus-yellow makes for an excellent and unexpected frame. What I like is that this is so fragmentary: we don't know who we're looking at, nor do we know where, though he's in the rear and with musical accompaniment. That's all we know, but his expression is one of engagement and happiness and if this is anything like my younger days, then he's listening to the Eurythmics...okay, he's not listening to the Eurythmics, but I'm sure that he's one of those people living in that domain of life that scares a lot of people...that domain of life that actually allows you to have your own personal soundtrack playing (perfectly synched) with whatever it is you're doing; he's not disappearing into a virtual world in his non-iPod iPod clone: instead he's simply having a conversation that inspires smiles (or at least a happy expression) with somebody just out of camera range, and I'll bet the "background score" is incredibly appropriate. I think that's kinda cool...if done right and if perceived in the right way. This shot reveals all of that. It's fantastic.

My kind of picture: The candid image of the boy and the graphic element of the 'frame'. Even the arrow for the handle moved the eye and mind toward the subject. Very nicely done and surely grabbed on the fly.
