Description
Balconies and stairs on the front of the old Skykomish Hotel.
Skykomish is that town here in the Cascade Mountains that I told you about a few days ago where the railroad is doing a cleanup project. They've moved this hotel away from its original location and back again.

What a shot. Based on what we know of this photo, would these be those "wandering stairs" I've heard so much about? Actually I haven't heard of wandering stairs, but I suspect if I had, they'd be these. I love the angles here, and the nice, stark coloration...monochrome, but not exactly! This has such a wonderful pointyness to it...I love the right angles and the crisp diagonals. Nice. Very nice.

One has to wonder about the outdoor stairways in our climate; it would have been a moist journey up and down much of the time! Beautiful collection of lines, your keen eye again!
