Description
I apologize in advance for the length of this but hope you will bear with. As it is I have to break the scene into 2 pts. I will also have to break this text.
Part 1 of 2 parts
Angus' logic in not being afraid of the Elven Elders was that Moira and Gwidion were both possessed of a keen sense of humor and basically kind natures...although, he was certain both of them could be terrors if they chose to be so. As was commonly said, even in the world of men, the fruit never fell far from the tree.
It was easy to see where they both came by their looks and coloring. Like father, like son. Moira was some combination of Mab and Magnus but was more inclined toward her mother's looks. Both had their father's black hair.
Magnus was friendly enough in spite of his stony face. He made Angus feel small and insignificant standing beside him, but only in that way. Mab, Moira's mother, was charming and gracious but Angus noticed they were both watching everything he did in every moment. They asked him a lot of questions about his feelings and opinions on religion, war, kings, his own kind - humans - and more. Angus didn't try to be fancy in his answers. He just said what he felt and made no apologies for any of it. His 'gut' told him that was best.
There was a long silence and then Mab asked him yet another thing. "Moira said that you told her you'd been dreaming of her since you were a wee lad. This is so?"
"Truth, milady. I was sick unto death once when I were about five. They thought I'd die, but I didn't. That's when I started dreamin' about 'er...only she was like she is now. 'Tis why I followed 'er that night. I recognized 'er from ma dreams." He looked over at her and smiled, taking her hand under the table. "Never been sorry I did, neither!"
"Interestin'!" Mab replied, cocking a brow at her daughter. "And what is your opinion on Mog?"
"I know e's hurt Moira and all of you in many ways. I can't do much about 'im, since I'm only human, but I'll do whate'er it takes ta help ya be rid of 'im. I don' like 'im at all...nor 'is sister. I'm much obliged ta Gwidion fer providin' me with Sheela. Did ye know Sheela likes rabbit stew more'n anythin' else?," he added with a grin.
Moira giggled and Mab remembered Moira saying Angus had a great smile. He did. "Nowt surprised," Mab chuckled. "Them dragons'll eat most anythin' but I di' nae know that. She told me she's very fond of ya, Angus. If ya like, she's yours."
"Oh, I'd like that very much! She talks?" he said, surprised.
"Not as you know it, but aye, she does. Magnus?" Mab turned to her husband. "I think after supper, we should discuss our plans for Mog with Angus."
"Ya say ye'll do whatever it takes, lad?" Magnus laced his fingers together, his elbows on the arms of his chair, and looked Angus in the eye. "Does that include riskin' yer life?"
"I meant what I said...whate'er it takes, sir." He felt Moira's hand tighten around his. "I'd do anything for Moira. Anything."
"Very well," Magnus answered, continuing to appraise the young human with those skewering blue eyes as he reached for the wine pitcher. "We'll see what yer made of, man. T'aint gonna be any amusement. I'll tell ye that right this now. Far as we know, e's still lickin 'is wounds from what Gwidion did ta 'im. But 'e carries on wi' his dirty dealins' though his minions. The more 'e thinks about it all, the more bitter he'll become. 'E thought this was a game - some whim, but Gwidion showed 'im otherwise." Magnus' big hand came up from the table. He pointed at Angus in a most decisive manner. "In essence, ye'll be the cheese fer that rat. We shall speak more on it later."

Mab appeared to be sleeping in her chair, but she wasn't. There was half a smile on her lips. She was listening to everything and it seemed she liked what she was hearing. Her eyes opened when Magnus had finished and she looked at Angus. "Why is it ya love 'er so much Angus, that ye'd give yer very life for 'er?" "T'aint a simple thing ta answer, Lady Mab," Angus began after casting a glance at Moira. "Many reasons." He paused, shrugging his shoulder slightly and noticed Magnus was listening to and watching him intently. "She's the only one e'er just accepted me as I am...fer what I am. Ya know now why I ain't like other men. I'll fight if I have ta, ta defend what is mine an' fer those I choose ta fight for. I'll rule if I must, but I'd rather leave it ta ma brother. They said I had no ambitions. I do, just nowt the same ones as theirs'. All I e'er seen power do is corrupt men's hearts. Seems t'aint much diff'rent 'ere, is it?" "Tis good ya ain't like other men. We like that - don't we Mab? Nay, t'aint much diff'rent in this place," Magnus answered. "Ain't much difference 'tween us at all," he finally cracked a smile. "We just got pointy ears an' magic! Yer welcome ta stay, if ya want Angus...or ye can go back. Tis up ta you, lad." "I'll stay. I like it 'ere," Angus smiled, glancing at Moira again. "I can teach ya lots o' things, but nowt til we're rid o' Mog an 'is kind. Consider it a test o' yer mettle, lad. An' if ya e'er show signs o' becomin' corrupted by by what I teach ya, I'll send ya 'ome. Ye'd soon die cos ye'd be real old by then. Sooo, ya might wanta keep that in mind." ***** Thank you for coming by and if you took the time to read it all, thanks much for that!! Have a great week dear friends! Rayvn

This was a nice thought,much appreciated,dear friend!

Angus' definitely is holding his own and the folks seem to like him. I like how they are kinda sizing him up but in a congenial way. Love Moira's little smile as she watches her man work his magic, but then she probably knew he would do alright with the folks or she wouldn't have had them meet... or was this in her way--a test? Speaking of tests, e' gads, Seems as if Angus is gonna get into the thick of things--can't wait to see how that plays out. Can Angus be granted immortality or longevity she "learns?" As fer render--PERFECT--love the atmosphere and mood--fits well the text, and I love the frame. Where did u get it....

Read every word. No problems from my end. Looking for'd to the second picture. Angus is a good man, I'm confident he'll pass the test, though be hard on the lad. Your image makes be dream of drinking ale and feasting in an old Scottish dining hall. I only wish.

Excellent! I love the image. Magnus looking tough and Mab's smile are a great contrast, thought they're like minded. Great warmth and nice posing. Magnus' lean and hands in motion are very telling of how serious he is. Great chapter and really piques the interest for things to come. Writing all this in accents is quite an endeavor and add so much atmosphere to the story. I kin ear'em awl in me head. Hmm, that sounds more cockney, oh well ;)Wonderful work.
