Description
This is a new build Fw190A-8 (for some reason I believe they call it an Fw190A-9N) powered by an R2800 C-series and owned by Rudy Frasca (BIG-time manufacturer of flight simulators). It's (the Flugwerk 190) fairly close to the original design with some concessions made for the lack of complex metal part forming tooling (most noticeable in the cowling) and some extinct specialized metric hardware - not to mention the lack of original BMW engines. Most are powered by a version (Dongan HS7) of the engine that was used in the Russian La5/7/9 (the ASh-82) ... not to get all ironical and stuff ...

Looks pretty good.

They can put a Buick engine in it for all I care.....it's beautiful.Looks like Rudy got himself the ultimate Focke-Wulf simulator (emulator)..lucky sod! There is a certain irony in a Russian powerplant but then I think the Fw-190 Rob and I saw fly at Legends was owned by a Frenchman.....This is way cool...any more?

Who cares if it's not totally original. There are not enough of these old aircraft about so all replicas are welcome in my mind. Great shots.

Irony keeps life interesting. Fine-looking machine.

Two outstanding photos Chuter...this replica looks very good compared to the real thing and is probably more reliable.
