Description
Here we have the flapwell and wheelwell. In the upper pic we can see the tailwheel actuating cable routed from the maingear retraction link around a pulley near the trunnion and back towards the fuselage along the top of the wheelwell. The flexible wire conduit snaking down the retraction link is for the gear downlock indicator and retract motor sequence switch (the gear is electric). Attached to the actuator motor drive disc you can see the red indicator post that protrudes through the top of the wing when the gear is down.
In the lower pic we can see the interior of the flap/flapwell. At the center of the flap is the drive quadrant (for the flap's electric jackscrew) with position indicators visible through a window in the wings upper surface. Between the flap's drive quadrant and the near end of the flap one of the aileron's push-pull tubes is seen - the tube moving outboard raises the aileron. The inboard end just outboard of the flap drive connects to another 90 degree bellcrank and push-pull tube that goes forward to near the landing gear motor where it then bell cranks again 90 degrees to inboard. Counting the bellcrank at the aileron that's three bellcranks and four push-pull tubes per side. Note the kinked flange on the second support channel on the flap - hmmm. The Germans were absolutely huge on stamped parts during the war which makes current restoration/building difficult.

I eat this up...is the red wheels down indicator true to the original? What a great idea!
