Description

Transcribed from the Personal Intellections of the Learned and Ethical Mother Ty'Lom Pers Curator, Council for Cosmos Examination, Planet Isis - Civilization Isis Circa 8 September 2249 Translation Class: 16C (Colloquial Earth English) This night at 47-29-121 common clock another rogue flare was detected, the second in less than a quarter season. Like the previous one, short lived - 7 pulses - but still reported by viewers in 276 communities across the southern hemisphere. Unlike the previous one, much closer - anchored within the lead gravity sanctum. The close proximity allowed for confirmation that the phenomena was generated by the resonance crest of a singular, type five light thread - amplitude 42700 hydrogens. In the case of the first crest, it survived for 4137 pulses and collapsed as a result of energy attenuation. The second sanctum crest existed for only 217 pulses with its collapse being consistent with material intrusion. In both cases, no deliberate transmissions were detected. If there is any question concerning the artificial nature of these crests, the use of a gravity sanctum as a positional anchor is evidence to the contrary. It is very unlikely that a naturally vibrating thread - stimulated by the magnetic disturbance of some distant nova perhaps - would be caught by the sancti gravity of our satellite. They are too weak to be felt over interplanetary distances let alone gulfs of interstellar scale. However, a gravity sanctum is a predictable locus to create a brief but stable crest close to a planet, if a filament is directed near to that location. In addition, the amplitudes were too large. Natural crests, when they occur, are less than one four hundredth as wide - 93 hydrogens. The two crests were open wide enough and long enough to complete a passive yet comprehensive radiation scan of this world and the surrounding vacuum. If this is a natural circumstance, then it would be an extraordinary new discovery. Hypothesis: The crests were not of nature. Query: Who is the source? The flares were sufficiently vociferous to attracted attention and consistent with ethical conduct. Still, like ourselves, others add an identifying signal for the sake clarity and completeness. The threads were not compounded, making the source within 12260 light-seasons. After each flare, electromagnetic radiation from the crest settled to background level suggesting an observatory function, not communication. Not including ourselves, there are three known civilizations within thread range, none have ever displayed such proactive curiosity over us in the past. The others also tend to use the more distant planetary sancti to form communication crests. Queries have been sent to the mentioned neighbouring civilizations for confirmation of crest generation. The responses from their governance are still pending. Upon my scholarship one is keen for the simple explanation. One can become dismayed by present and baseless speculation concerning the source of these threads. Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proofs.
Thank you all for taking the time to visit. This piece I am dedicating to Lucinda (aka. myrrhluz here at Renderosity). Lucinda is a very lovely person haling from Texas, USA for whom I have been very grateful for her support. In particular for her interest in my Encyclopedia Galactica series. Lucinda is very observant and insightful and we've had numerous discussions upon where the story is going. A couple of months back I told her that I had hoped to take a closer look at Civilization Isis by the end of the year. Lucinda was very intrigued by the prospect which only motivated me more. And now here we are, my first ever effort to conceptualize the thoughts of an alien intellectual. And I thought my Zoe character was hard to write for. -Gasp Lucinda herself keeps a lovely photo gallery with very detailed information about her inspirations and memories. If you love colour and natural beauty her gallery is worth the visit. Thanks so much my friend.

I really need to catch up and this is the best place to start: both as a fantastic and mind-expanding piece of artwork and as a dedication. I love the text and the manner in which it plays off of and further illuminates its accompanying illustration, and then to top it off, it concerns an intriguing phenomenon full of mystery and implication more than anything else. The technical aspects of it give a marvelous sense of reality whereas the underlying emotional current implied draws me in even further as both a reader and an armchair observer. This is a fantastic, far-reaching piece of work and it's a flawless dedication. Superb work.

Wow, Clayton, thanks! I'm sorry to be late commenting. I wish my mind were more alert. I've just spent 2 hours studying Spanish and my mind is awash with Ella tiene una bicicleta... No, ella no tiene una bicicleta. This is so cool! Writings from the Civilization Isis! I really like that they are in the form of the Personal Intellections of the Learned and Ethical Mother Ty'Lom Pers Curator, Council for Cosmos Examination. With all the detail and mystery, there is also an individual, teasing out the information and trying to solve the riddle. The flares are consistent with ethical conduct, but unidentified, and their purpose seems to be observation. Curiouser and curiouser. I wonder if the answers to the three queries will come back as negatives. This is very interesting and all the more so that such a civilization as Isis is, for the moment, perplexed. Beautiful image. That is a very unnatural something out there. Tomorrow, before I start again on the Spanish, I'm going to review everything I have about Isis. This is wonderful. I look forward to what comes next. Thanks so much for the dedication. You really made my night.
