Description

Although it is an antique it has not been retired. My husband drags our garden each year with this lovely tool in Waverly, MN. The repeated circular pattern and the rough edges caught my eye as it rested in the summer sun. Thanks for the view. Hope all is well in your world. Jodie

Great reminder of summer and gardening, much needed in this rain and storm!! Lovely shot and details.

A miniature disker? I have to admit that I never thought of its full-size cousin in the fields were anything beautiful (when I was a kid), though the repeating patterns were neat when viewed from an angle. You've captured the beauty of this tool as well as the rust working to destroy it.

Well, I can see why you couldn't resist the lovely geometric shapes of this pragmatic tool, Jodie, just an outstanding POV and stellar clarity, composition and texture in this outstanding capture!

a quiet intimate capture of an old rusted & gently colored tool, captured with genuine affection rather than cold or abstract interest; and I like the way you got the pieces of this thing aligned in a kind of spontaneous 'spill' across the frame. Beauty in old objects...and very much a picture from the country. (Very lovingly so. You'd not see this in Chicago, I'm pretty sure.) Simple & eloquent, and very sensitively caught. (I saw your filmstrip, and it was fully professional and seamless, but in the time I have right now, I wanted to go back for a few earlier images. And I get the whole 'gradient' thing: I know what it is to spend forever on one element, when on assignment...and only people who've done it will know the full extent of your labor, but it's nice to know you put in that kind of love even for something that will show up in a letterhead or invoice-head or poster, etc. Something monastic about that effort. "Only me & God know..." Well more than that, but still, it's a small number...and both these images show the sense of attention to the smallest details, and the joy in making them shine. Fine work in both cases.) (The extra ebots are my connection again...when it sputters I can upload many times & it doesn't show. I think I kept it to 3 this time...)
