Description

I was playing around with the terrain editor and textures and this scene started to form. I thought it was kind of cool.

You used your distant blue object as a distant light source, but on the leading edge of the asteroid facing the sun you should have put a thin edge of glow...If the asteroiid is extremely close that glow edge should be even larger to accent the idea. I liked the picture and too much glow would have washed out the detail of the craters...In Morning on the Snowball I tried for the opposite effect cold and distant with light falloff washing out the level of detail.

Wow! I don't know why? Colors? Composition? But this reminds me of an artist I like very much, Richard Corben, I think its the colors, and the bold use of color, light, shadow and contrast! Very cool, and wonderful to look at despite the lack of any "Object". it is simply great to look at! Nice experiment!
