UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Aw, a cute little choo-choo train without tracks! :) Nice photo of the early type combine. These things really opened up the great plains for farming. The worlds richest farm lands, and so vast they have been able to feed nearly half the world (considering foreign aid programs). It looks like it could be in working order, too. Nice camera angle and lighting angle. I bet it was a fast one, once it got its steam pressure up. Keep up the good work. These oldies are still goodies and have a great deal of charm. :-)

Oh, that's just delicious, Bill! I love these old steam tractors - and this is a beaut! I can visualize a pretty lady dressed in steampunk style standing next to it... Got a bigger version? Hint, hint... LOL!

Man O Man, get outta the way of that behemoth as it comes roaring down the rocky road! Stellar POV, clarity and corrosion texture in this excellent snap, Bill. And is the vignetting in all four corners of the image intentional or just a side effect of the particular lens you were using?

this is so cool as I like to stare and think a ride would be cool warm hugs, Linda

What a fabulous... ...um... ...thing! It looks like a locomotive in the midst of deciding that it wants to be a cannon when it grows up. Needless to say, I like it. A LOT! Of course, when I look at this, it brings a particular piece of music to mind as well, and with me being me, I'm gonna share that bit of music! Going for a Ride. Occasionally, words and images just work together too well for me to ignore, and your photo makes me think of Firefly the short-lived science fiction tv show that died a premature death because the executives at Fox had no clue how to handle a science fiction space opera with covered wagons, sheriffs, and cowboys speaking Mandarin. The show spawned a movie, Serenity, which is where this music comes from...and for some reason, I can just see Mal (the Capt'n) with Zoe and Jayne (a guy) making an escape on this baby.

a great machine... your image of it is just impeccable, Bill!
