Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Now THAT is indeed a beautiful building. SO meticulously built and so beautifully captured too.

Beautiful photo. It catches the opposing building in the windows, giving a stark contrast between the old and the modern. But, the windows in the old building are new - the original would have been with smaller window panes. I sure wouldn't want to be the cleaning person responsible for keeping that facade clean! So many curlicues and bunches of grapes! Keep up the good work! :-)

Ahhh ... the Fisher Building. That WAS a good day, wasn't it? :) I'm glad I dogged you to get that headset. The past two years of listening to your cutie accent have been delightful, and I'm thrilled at the way things have gone since that day! Infamy, indeed. LOL! :D

Ooh, the Fisher Building. I wonder if they offer tours. Probably not, since it's an apartment/condo complex thingie now. But still...I'd love a tour of that place especially if I'd get to see the gargoyles up on top. They're too high up to see clearly, but they're there. Anyway, what a shot! One of the things I love about Chicago is the architecture; it's a glimpse into its history, and though Chicago is going through an identity crisis now, it has a colorful history and a colorful past that it's decided to clean up. I guess the Blues Brothers and various mafiosi just weren't good enough. But hey, if the mafia is good enough for Moscow, it's good enough for Chicago. But that's just my opinion. What I really like about this shot is the way you captured both interior and exterior aspects of this building. Okay, most of the windows have curtains or blinds, but still...there's a sense of depth you caught here which works quite well, and the warm colors are superb. I know it's not sandstone, but it has that sandstone color and it looks so clean! It's like they steam-clean that building daily...which, of course, they don't. I especially like the other building reflected, rather nicely (and partially) in some of the windows, but not all of them. This is a great shot!

A beautiful shot, Bill! Wow - just look at the scrollwork - such a shame they don't add this wonderful detail to buildings anymore.

Hey, I know this building! One of the many great old dolls here in Chicago. And you've certainly captured it in all its majestic glory. Love the light and reflections in the windows as well as the occasional peek-a-boo inside. Wonderful work!

Cool designs under the windows and I like the reflections in the right side windows.
