It's gorgeous, Harry; puts me in mind of rich damask and velvet at once, and I'm sure the scent was heavenly. Beautiful shots!

This rich colour of yellow, actually brings the famous folksong, by Mitch Miller to mind: "The yellow Rose of Texas" ... it's nice, that certain images can do that to one! it's wonderful Harry, BB

always love the many personalities you capture in rose after rose, or with all your flowers for that matter. After harsh car wrecks & haunting bleak late-day lights on benches & cracks in walls, etc, etc, it's always amazing to arrive at your flowers with all your assured lushness and lavishness. These two shots have the feel of an 18th C. painting: The yellows are painterly & the rich dark (surrounding) makes it feel painterly as well. (Ie, the way artists 'silhouetted' flowers by painting rich darkness around them.) It's also in the shadow within the petals too. Caught as beautiful counterpoint to the bold yellows. It does look like early light---it could be late light too, but point is, it's definitely not mid afternoon light, or noon...You have a well developed eye for early/late light, capturing the many faces of it, including its harsh shadows and the bold saturated colors where the sun hits. (Here, the saturated yellows.) Beautiful & lush, and introspective as well. More beautiful roses from you. (Harry, I have to stop, but let me say your smiling buddha was a delight, and very rich in greens too. I'll try to get to it next time. Wanted you to know I saw it though...See, my uploads these days are done a paragraph every several hours, I don't do them in one sitting. So these comments are about all I should do at present. But I'll be back.)
