Description

With not a care in the world. A far cry from roses, fountain grass and water drops. Top two fotos captured 9/3/11, bottom two on 9/19/11, early in the morning, while on my way to the local WalMart. Ardently ZOOM worthy. I couldn't decide who to dedicate this to, so I just let it pass. Picture #2 is a cropped enlargement of picture #1, which was a bit of a long distance shot. I used to see this gentleman all the time and regarded him as a permanent fixture around the area. A couple of weeks later I thought I'd take a closer shot of him during his adventures in dreamland, so there he is in fotos 3 and 4, with his worldly possessions close by. At that time I didn't want to get too close because -- to paraphrase Admiral Yamamoto after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, in fear of awakening a sleeping giant and filling him with a terrible resolve. But then a few days later when I thought I'd really get an upclose capture of him, I discovered to my dismay that he and his property had completely vanished from the scene, a small strip mall. I suppose the merchants or the police were tired of his slovenly presence, declared him persona non grata, and ejected him from the premises. And, I haven't seen him since. He must have had a reliable source of nutrition because he didn't look like he was starving. Maybe he lived on macaroni and cheese dinners. Those are cheap and filling. Arrivederci, thanks for coming aboard, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Very sad that this is happening all over the country. Captured well, Harry.

Excellent captures of this homeless man. He looks to have chosen a rather draughty place to go to sleep and it can't be very comfy. A sign of the times in this world recession.

It is sad for sure, and hopefully he will go to one of the shelters before it gets too cold

I think this is an invasion of privacy. Especially shooting him from a distance like this. The way to go would have been to approach him and ask his permission. The fact that you didn't feel brave enough to should have told you that it wasn't cool to shoot him. That's just my opinion. Imagine if his son or daughter saw this all over the internet.

Definely not hungry. Most interesting pics. I disagree with blinkings. If you are in public you are a legitimate subject, and in the UK at least, legally so.

Yeah1 attractive, naked, FAT, homeless guy sleeping rough! So, he's FAT and that means must be eating well.. If only junk.. Which means he could probably at least afford a room a couple of nights a week.. Not impressed.. Get this stuff in Britain.. Mostly not of this Country.. Rob

I look at this picture and I wonder just how far apart social classes have grown in our modern society!

Evidently, blinkings is not familiar with Photographer's Rights, which states that unless signs are posted prohibiting the photography of persons, objects, structures, et al, one can take pics of anyone or anything they want. I could go into a rant over this, but the Renderosity censors wouldn't allow the language I would use.

It is sad. It brings back memories of a time I saw a homeless man rummaging through a garbage can, as I sat there in the park in my car, eating a mcdonalds burger. I felt so sorry for him. I got out of the car and started talking to him about the beautiful day; and he was SO nice and so polite. And, I SO wanted to help him out :( Happy new Year Harry! ♥
