Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

So, was the right door for voyeurs, LOL? Seriously, if would have been funnier if the left door was for men and the right for women, but they opened to the same area. I remember seeing a bar in Osoyoos with separate entrances for men, and ladies with escorts, and they both opened into the same bar room. We are starting to see mixed use washrooms more frequently in Canada, and they are appearing in primary schools, the best place to make a start.

Isn't is funny how spoiled we've gotten by modern conveniences? I remember when I was a VERY small child visiting my great grandparents in Bowlus, Northern Minnesota. They lived on a farm; their kitchen water source was a pump next to the sink and a bucket underneath the drain hole and their bathroom was an outhouse like this.

A very rustic looking outhouse, I hope it was clean inside. Why we don't spend more money on toilets I will never know as everyone has to go. We have some great ones here but others leave a lot to the imagination I'm afraid.

Beautiful capture of the unisex outhouse, Dana, so wonderfully rustic in appearance and construction.
