My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I really like the high-key. I went on a walking-tour of Sienna on one of my handful of European short breaks. The tour guide had mainly excellent English, but at every stop she said, " Now, you SHOULD know....." instead of 'might be interested to learn', or 'might like to know'. She said it so often it passed into our common language in the staffroom at school. For example "Mrs Haxell, you SHOULD know that Billy X in your class is the most obnoxious little S*** I have ever had the misfortune to teach". Amazing what your rather beautiful photo brought back. You SHOULD know that I find the way the lass is pointing outside the frame inspired!

I like the black against the white. Almost surreal. Nice work.

Candid pics are always interesting. I would suggest you try this one in B&W but it's just an idea! :)

Like Rob, I'm distracted by the young lady in the skirt. Great capture and LOL at Andrea's comments.

I also love the high-key feel to this, that heavenly glow that seems to rise from the pavement. Well done you!

Nicely done! I think shooting street scenes is one of the most difficult types of photography. You basically have no control over anything - lighting, posing, action...nada.

Looks a bit dreamy, like it was a picture of a thought of other days. Excellent image indeed.

The blacks, the whites...all in a color image. This photo just glows. Fascinating subject matter. The more I look, the more I like! Wow...

I'm with you, Tara - I really like this photo - you just have a knack for making the most common scenes turn into fine art. Kudos, my dear friend!

Oh yes! Chicago is such a great place for street shots, especially downtown. This is a perfect example and I love the arches of the windows adding extra interest to this shot. The human focus is what these are all about and you nailed that perfectly, especially in terms of the different personalities, the different people, and their unified focus over thataway! I love the sense of activity in this shot as well. This rocks. I don't know if I should say this, but getting them at night is even more fun! You can get such nice motion blurs!

Very cool capture of these unsuspecting people! I love the glow effect here as well :-) Happy Holidays to you and your family!
