Description
It was my son who introduced me to Renderosity, precisely 4 years ago, today ... here is a little dedication for him and -
~Many Happy Returns Jeff~
He was born the same day (8.12.) - the day, John Lennon found his demise.
Unfortunately the world lost a great musician - strangely enough Jeff seems to have carried on in the tradition, in a small way - he also has a love for playing Lead & Rhythm guitar (Rock,Blues & Jazz)
... and I like to add, he is also a bit of a petrol-head, meaning he is an ardent follower of the UK 'Top-Gear' show and has a 'need for speed' - say no more!
I couldn't think of anything better as a dedication for him, than an oil-slick - what the? - no flowers for this kid! ;)
(BTW I was walking along the road, toward the bus-stop in the rain! - when I spotted the oil in the gutter, because our road is currently being re-surfaced.)

Indeed really cool this dedi for your Jeff, dear 'mother of'. In the Netherlands there is a saying: he is in the oil. Which means: he drank one drink too many (too many, too many, too many ;-)). Referring to the oil image for Jeff, thinking of maybe a great party, and many drinks to go ;-). Happy birthday Jeff!

Wow, You do understand your son. Not a picture of him as a baby (just enough to embarrass)or a portrait to show how he is "The most handsome boy in the world" or sweet pictures by "Mommy" ... You think on he and his interests and hobbies . I give you ten as a mother. .. and as a photographer also.

Perfect Burfday piccy, I really dig the tones and hues of this slick pic and as we are getting a new road, does that mean I can drive even faster ?...LOL Just wish the sun was out today, so we could have a swim in the pool as I'm really a water baby, guess I'll just have to crank up my amp and have a session on the ol' Strat ! So what you are saying is that on the day I walked through the Nepalese countryside and discovered Swayambhunath you were in hospital giving birth to a fellow gearhead? What are the odds? I currentlyown a Subaru Impreza WRX which doesn't look very fast but has a 245hp inline four engine and handles better than my 1965 Corvette ever did. A very happy birthday to Jeff. If he's good enough for you I suppose he's good enough for me. Tell him to drive safely. This is a great abstract. Fantastic image and very appropriate.

I laughed when I read Andrea's comment. When I saw this image, and read your words, I thought, "Oil slicks from Australia, and painted road markings from England. I love this site!" Cool image and very humorous and singular narrative! Oil makes lovely colors and designs, and the bits of gravel add great texture. Excellent post! Happy belated Birthday to Jeff!
